What it is
Good interface design is mostly editing. It removes the steps that were there for internal reasons, names things the way customers name them, and puts the next action where the eye already is. We design in the browser as much as in Figma, because a layout that only works at one width is not a design.
Research first, pixels second
We start with the people who will use it: what they came to do, what they know already, where the current experience loses them. That comes from analytics, session review, support tickets and — where the budget allows — talking to actual customers. Only then do we draw.
From wireframe to design system
Low-fidelity structure gets agreed before anything gets styled, which keeps the expensive conversations early. Then we build a design system — type scale, colour roles, spacing, components, states — so the twentieth page costs a fraction of the first and the site stays coherent as it grows.
Accessible by default
Contrast ratios, focus states, keyboard paths, touch target sizes and reduced-motion behaviour are specified in the design, not left for a developer to guess at.
What you get
Deliverables
Scope is agreed in writing before work starts. These are the components a typical website design & ui/ux engagement includes.
- UX audit of the current experience with prioritised findings
- Information architecture and user flows
- Wireframes and clickable prototypes for testing
- High-fidelity interface design across breakpoints
- Design system: tokens, components, states and usage rules
- Developer handover with specs, assets and interaction notes
Method
How the work runs
Understand
Analytics, audit and user input to establish what the current experience gets wrong.
Structure
Flows and wireframes agreed before visual design starts.
Design
Interface design across breakpoints, built on a reusable system.
Validate
Prototype testing and accessibility review, then handover to engineering.
Why Sole Digital Media
Three reasons this tends to go well
Designed for build
Our designers work alongside our developers, so what gets drawn is what gets shipped.
Systems, not screens
You get rules that scale, not a folder of one-off layouts.
Conversion is the brief
Every screen has a job. We measure whether it does it.

Website Design & UI/UX questions
Yes. We regularly hand designs and systems to in-house or third-party engineering teams, with the specification detail that requires.
Every layout is designed at mobile, tablet and desktop widths rather than scaled down from a desktop comp.
